Week Without Walls
During the 2021-2022 academic year, our annual Global Exploration Trips were replaced with a new week-long event, Week Without Walls. This year’s theme for Week Without Walls, focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Students joined SDG groups they were interested in and spent the week exploring and researching their goal with 2-3 teachers. Students and teachers enjoyed the mixed grade level groups and the opportunity to work together on a common area of interest.
While most of the activities happened on campus, many SDG groups were able to explore out into the community in meaningful ways such as field trips to:
- A community trip to EDA
- Fengshan Water Resource Center-Blue Whale Corporation
- Hiking Trip to Guaning Shan Mt Trails
- Agongdian Reservoir
- Kaohsiung Museum of History
- Shan Zhongtian
- The Old Railway Bridge & Wetlands Ecological Park
- Southern Region Weather Center in Tainan and Guanyin Mountain
- A River Investigation
- A Wetland Investigation

The Week Without Walls culminates in a grades 1-11 Sharing of Learning event. Each Sustainable Development Goal group prepared a product and presentation to share with peers. Students, faculty, and staff all joined in to visit each group and to share in their learning.

The Week Without Walls epitomizes an essential part of our mission and guiding statements in helping students in their continued development as internationally-minded global citizens. During Week Without Walls, I-Shou students truly are developing as internationally-minded global citizens.
