Sports & Activities
A robust sporting and activities programme to compliment teaching and learning in the classroom
The activities program at IIS is very diverse and encompasses a wide range of offerings led by our teachers. There are over 175 different sport, art, culture, and service activities offered to our students over the school year.
Additionally, more than 25 different activities are offered by part time teachers who come to IIS to specifically offer extracurricular activities. All IIS students are active participants in the sports and activities program. This is important as research has shown that more than academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities is a strong indicator of success in adulthood.
The IIS sports program consists of 4 core sports for middle school (volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer) and three for high school (Soccer, basketball, volleyball). We participate in the Taiwan International Schools Sports Association (TISSA) and we are a member of the Association of Chinese and Mongolian International Schools (ACAMIS).
HOUSE SYSTEM
IIS places all teachers and students into one of the four Houses: Ignis, Aqua, Terra, and Aethra. The IIS House system encourages students and teachers to interact in an environment outside of the classroom to develop unity and the spirit of a team.
