Student Leadership
Developing life skills beyond the classroom

At I-Shou International School, we strive to enrich the whole student, giving opportunities to develop life skills beyond the classroom so that our students will be in a better position to contribute meaningfully to the wider community when they leave school.
Part of this process is to encourage an ethos of distributed leadership where students get the chance to take on roles of responsibility.
The core component of student leadership at IIS takes the form of the Student Council (STUCO). With representatives from the whole school, STUCO hold events, fundraise for charity, celebrate important events and act as ambassadors for IIS.
In the school boarding house, a prefect system is utilised to foster a nurturing and student lead environment. Prefects ensure facilities are being used correctly, create the rules which their fellow students abide and take an active voice in the shaping of their environment.
Lastly, each classroom fosters an identity of leadership through the IB curriculum. Each class shares roles and scaffolds leadership skills to prepare students for larger leadership roles in future.
At I-Shou International school we are making the world a better place, one student at a time.
