Boarding Life
Co-educational residential programme, housed in state-of-the-art facilities that fosters student growth and a sense of community within a family style atmosphere.

Welcome to the I-Shou International School Boarding House!
The IIS Boarding House opens its doors to students from the 6th to 12th grades who require weeknight residence at I-Shou International School.
Students residing within the boarding house community focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, fostering intercultural understanding, striving to reach their academic potential, all while learning life skills necessary for post secondary life.
The boarding house offerings include each student’s living space, belonging to a house group, daily routines, and after school activities that are conceived to further these goals and provide the students with a nurturing and safe environment.
The facilities include a new student common center complete with kitchen, student lounge area, meeting rooms, and a game room, with ping pong tables, a pool table, and foosball table. The boarding house gym has 2 treadmills, 3 bikes, and free weight area. The laundry facilities include 12 washers and dryers. Shared bedrooms are spacious and overlook the IIS school campus and EDA community. Boarders enjoy buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner in the newly renovated cafeteria.
Students attend night study every evening, but have the choice of studying in a quiet area, collaborative working area, or doing self study. IIS night teachers supervise and are ready to give assistance if needed. As well, all IIS boarders belong to a house group, which provides a community within a community, where all boarders can find a sense of belonging and connection. Life skills such as self-reliance, washing clothes, and cleaning are also taught. Birthday parties and trips to the EDA Mall are held monthly, which add to the full boarding house experience at IIS.

“This is my fourth year at the IIS boarding house and I’ve never regretted a single moment of it. The dorms are so warm and welcoming - and our night parents feel more like friends than deans, and my fellow boarders feel more like family. Breakfast and dinner have gotten so much better, and the new indoor gym, as well as the student center, have completely exceeded my expectations. Living in the IIS Boarding House has helped me save time, maintained my grades, social life, and provided me with so much opportunity for recreation. It really feels like my home away from home, and I haven’t been able to say that about many places.”
~ Chelsea Chang (Grade 12)
“I never thought dorm life would be such an amazing experience. The night parents are extremely nice and take good care of us. Unlike a typical crowded dorm room, we are provided with a clean and spacious room, which I have really appreciated. Recently, a new student center has been opened for us. It provides a joyful time for me and my friends. There are ping pong tables, foosball, and pool table that allows me to compete with my friend as well as enhancing friendship and bonding time between us.“
~ Jet Huang (Grade 12)
