義大焦點 IN FOCUS WEEK 3

01Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle in the Early Years

Encouraging our young students to stay healthy and active is an important aspect of our Early Years program at the ISIP. Each day we offer plenty of opportunities for students to develop motor skills and gain knowledge to support this. Last week we were happy to celebrate National Taiwan Sports Day and further motivate our students to get active.

On this day, students participated in four different activities to get their hearts pumping and work on improving their physical capabilities. The events were; an animal themed race, a challenging obstacle course, an exciting tug-of-war competition, and a dance party.

All students and teachers enjoyed this event. Over the coming year, there will be plenty of opportunities for students to further develop their love of physical activity.

02Primary Department Parent Information Events

This week, the Primary Department Parent Information Events began!

Achievements in student learning begin with the joint cooperation of parents, teachers and students.

We firmly believe that establishing clear, informative communication with families will enhance the implementation of curriculum and strengthen learning outcomes.

The events were carefully planned by Primary Department co-directors and teachers to guide parents through the process of students' learning, and to work together as a community to support our students' growth and development.

03Grade 7 Team Building Field Trip

Students in Grade 7, together with their homeroom teachers and Directors Amanda and Patrick participated in a day of outdoor activities at the Jianshanpi Jiangnan Resort. Activities were focused on team building and integration for the students in both the International and Bilingual Secondary departments. The students enjoyed a tree climbing activity, as well as canoeing. The weather was beautiful, the objectives were achieved, and fun was had by all!

04Various Learning Opportunities in Week 3

After the long weekend, our SBD grade 12 students had their second mock exam for the General Scholastic Ability Test. Every senior student took this exam seriously and tried their best to achieve success. It’s a great chance for them to examine their learning.

Also, our grade 7 students went on a team building trip together with the ISD grade 7 students. They experienced kayaking and tree climbing at the Jiangshanpi Resort and learned how to collaborate and to communicate with each other. Students who remained at school also participated in various learning activities.

05Distance Learning Trials

Friday September 16th teachers and students will participate in our Distance Learning Trials. This is a yearly event where we practice the skills and tools we will need in the event that we need to return to distance learning. We don’t anticipate another school suspension, and these useful tools and skills in our teaching toolkits that will elevate our teaching practice whilst still inside the classroom.
