義大焦點 IN FOCUS Week 20

01I-Shou International Preschool - Sharing of Learning

We were happy to once again open our doors to our parent community this Thursday and Friday for our second Sharing of Learning events of the year. Students from NK to K2 worked hard to prepare stations, activities, and songs to share with the families when they joined us for the afternoon. The students did a great job leading their parents around the rooms to showcase the different concepts they have been exploring throughout this past Unit of Inquiry.

This event was made even more special by the decorations around the school set up for the upcoming Chinese Culture Day on January 18th. The design of the hallways and classrooms helped the students and parents feel the importance of this event as we prepared to mark this special occasion.

Thanks to all the parents for joining us for the Sharing of Learning event and making this a special day for the students of the ISIP!

02Primary Department Awards Assembly

The semester is coming to an end which means it is time to celebrate students who have put forth a consistent effort and hard-working attitude in their learning.

The assembly began with a marvellous presentation from our Grade 6 Reader’s Theatre Group who performed with vibrant expression and clarity!

Students were then presented with community awards that included the arts, programming, sports, language and maths. Following this, the awards chosen by homeroom and specialist teachers were presented. These awards included excellence in bilingual language learning, learner profile, art, music and PE. Students were thrilled to receive their awards and their classmates displayed support and excitement for their peers who went up on stage!

For the assembly finale, the semester 1 house sports winner was drawn from the House Sports Box! Congratulations Aethra for receiving a popsicle party to finish off the semester!

Well done to all award winners and 加油 to all students as they do their best in the upcoming semester!

03Abstract Sculptures in International Secondary Department Visual Arts

Grade 9 Visual Arts made abstract sculptures which they constructed from wood, aluminium wire and stretched nylon. They were then painted using brush  and sponge with gesso and acrylic paint. The results are awesome and the students are so proud of them!

04Secondary Bilingual Department Wishes All the Best to The Grade 12 Students

The General Scholastic Ability Test(GSAT) will take place from this Friday to Sunday. After lots of preparation, it’s finally the time for our grade 12 students to take this most important test in their high school life. Our students went to the test venue and checked all the details before the actual test.

Good luck G12s! We all wish you the best of luck this weekend!

05I-Shou International School is Celebrating the Chinese New Year with its Annual Chinese Culture Day Celebration on Wednesday, January 18

Our annual Chinese Culture Day at I-Shou International School is approaching!

This year's theme is "The Dynamic Flow of Chinese Literature in History and Exploration of Idioms", and both students and teachers from the Primary Department, Bilingual Secondary Department and International Secondary Departments are working hard to prepare for the event.

The festival includes dynamic performances, static displays, and interactive games. The school has always placed great emphasis on the education and cultivation of Chinese language and culture, and this event, which brings together the participation of teachers and students, is also open to the IIS community.

See you on Wednesday, January 18th!
