義大焦點 IN FOCUS Week 19

01Primary Department Project-Based Assessments

This week, the Primary Department students engaged in project-based assessments across all grades. Based on their UOI themes, teaching teams designed multifaceted assessments and guided students to complete them through practical application of what they learned in the unit across various subjects. During Distance Learning, students continue to use our inquiry model to learn and take action from learning. This cultivates their problem solving skills.

02Middle School Department Finishing Strong

The Middle School Department is having a strong finish to the school year in Week 19, the second-to-last week of the school year in the “Year of Being Principled”. Students have been busy with year-end reflections and goal-setting while teachers are putting the finishing touches on comments and grades which will be sent via Managebac on the afternoon of July 4th.

Next week is our final week of the school year.  Let’s make it a great one!

03Week 19: The Penultimate Week

We may be getting closer to the end of the school year but the fantastic work does not stop. This week the art department completed their amazing Virtual Exhibition. While in the virtual classrooms students have maintained their excellent efforts online.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

052022 I-Shou Make, Bake, Shake

As we wrap up the year, we find ourselves once again learning and connecting primarily in digital spaces. Normally at the end of the year students from different grades and departments come together to solve design challenges as a part of Maker Challenge Week.

Given our current context, gathering in large groups is not possible, but we can take action as a community. So we brought back the Make, Bake, Shake Challenge! We asked teachers, students, staff, and parents to share things that they've crafted, cooked, or done to stay active.

The Make, Bake, Shake challenge is all about getting people away from their screens to engage in something creative and healthy.
