02Happy Holidays from the Primary Years Programme (PYP)

As we end the year, the Primary Department would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of our students and their families. We’ve had a wonderful first semester, and ended it with lots of learning and fun. Our Winter Concert was a great success. Christmas Eve was filled with festive singing and fun activities, such as Christmas KTV in our main lobby by Primary Department teachers and students.

We wish you a Happy New Year and a wonderful extended weekend!

03Middle School Department Prepares For End-of-Semester Assessments

This week in the Middle School Department (MSD) is the last week before end-of-semester assessments. Teachers and students are hard at work preparing for success on these important assessments of student learning over the course of the last quarter and the semester.

Academics are a top priority in the MSD and we are extremely diligent when it comes to ensuring the greatest possible success of each and every one of our students.  Our Middle Years Programme Coordinator Bill Tolley and our Middle School Director Derek Kensinger, along with our Middle School teachers work collaboratively to fulfill our I-Shou vision of making the world a better place, one student at a time.

04An Abbreviated but Productive Week in International Secondary Department (ISD) !

This week may have been only 4 days long but the ISD students filled the week with activities.

The Boys Varsity Basketball team produced an excellent team display to beat Ivy Academy by 10 points. Congratulations to Tr. Ryan and the team.

In Advisory, the grade 10s started considering their IBDP course option choices. Across the school students completed valuable review sessions in preparation for next week’s end of semester assessments.

We all are looking forward to the three-day weekend and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

05Secondary Bilingual Department (SBD) Science Inquiry

Have you ever bought plastic bags when you go shopping? Have you ever bought a bottle of water from a vending machine? Have you ever bought a rain poncho and used it only one time?

In our daily lives, we can solve problems in a short time and enjoy the “convenient” everyday life. Nevertheless, these choices contribute to environmental pollution.

The Secondary Bilingual Department (SBD) science inquiry course combined Sustainable Development Goals 14 and 15 (SDGs): life below water and life on land. Grade 11 students used milk powder to make “milk plastic” that can alternate plastic to be more eco-friendly.

This class inspires students to think about how to protect our environment in an environmentally responsible way.

We look forward to the “eco-friendly” cup presently being designed by SBD students.
