義大焦點 IN FOCUS WEEK 16

01Christmas in the Primary Department

The Primary Department loves to celebrate the Christmas season together with meaningful activities. Thank you to our students, families, and teachers for showing generosity towards our Christmas Caring Drive! We still have until December 31 to show Ren Ai Senior Citizens Home how big the hearts are in the I-Shou Community.

Students and teachers are also having a fun time decorating Primary Department doors for the holidays. This is a wonderful tradition that brings lots of holiday cheer.

An announcement will come soon about a very special auction to promote Taiwanese art and increase this year’s donation.

 Stay tuned!

02Middle School Department Parent Information Sessions: A Big Success

This week in the Middle School Department (MSD) we hosted Parent Information Sessions on campus in our Boarding House Common Room.  We loved the opportunity to connect and collaborate with parents to discuss a range of topics including expectations, MAP Growth Assessment Family Reports, and grading in the Middle Years Programme.

The sessions were hosted by Dir. Derek, Middle Years Programme Coordinator Bill Tolley, Middle School Supervisor Grace Tsai, Lotta Liu, and homeroom teachers of each grade level.  Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is of utmost importance to us in the Middle School Department at I-Shou International School as we partner together to “make the world a better place one student at a time”.

03“Let Me Care for You” Takes Center Stage in the International Secondary Department (ISD)

With another very busy week completed in the ISD, it was nice to see yet another student leadership event take center stage. Mindful of the rigours of the IB MYP and DP programmes, our Grade 12 students Ashley, Adison, Albert and Emma created the "Let Me Care for You" event to encourage all ISD students to support each other. Throughout the week, students received caring notes, posted inspirational messages on a graffiti wall, and released their stress and worries through a writing activity.

In Advisory, our Grade 11 students took time to reflect on their first 16 weeks of DP study and passed on some great advice to each other in a reflection workshop led by the homeroom teachers and DP Coordinator Dan.

ISD students have also been working tirelessly in preparation for the upcoming Winter Concert next week, and we look forward to their performances.

04Secondary Bilingual Department (SBD) Grade 12 Christmas Gratitude Feast

There is only one month left before the General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) and SBD grade 12 students continue to learn and study hard every day. To encourage our students, Dir. Amanda prepared some delicious food. We believe in our students and know they will remain dedicated to their studies through the end.

Additionally, grade 12 students support each other through friendships that could last forever.
