義大焦點 IN FOCUS WEEK 14

01Grade 6 Experts Discuss Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition is the culminating event in a PYP student’s learning. Their group inquiry with other students sharing interest in a topic becomes a key indicator of how well they’ve developed attributes of the Learner Profile, and the ATL Skills, which include self-management, communication, social, thinking, and research skills. Learning from upperclassmen experienced in this journey is an excellent opportunity.

Evelyn and Emily returned to the Primary Department as PYPx Experts and delivered a session to Grade 5 students on what to expect in the Exhibition, and how to be as successful as they were.

 Thank you, Evelyn and Emily!

02Middle School Department Parent Teacher Conferences

This week in the Middle School Department (MSD) we hosted Parent Teacher Conferences, which were highly attended and very collaborative with over 100 meetings in total. Parents had the choice of meeting virtually via Zoom or in-person with teachers to discuss their children’s academic progress.

At I-Shou we deeply value our parent community and want to take the opportunity to say thanks to our parents for your continued support of our holistic programme.  We happily welcome parents onto our campus as we partner together to make the world a better place, one child at a time.

03Diverse Events During Week 14 in the International Secondary Department (ISD)

This week has been a fun and eclectic week in the ISD. Starting at the top of the school, many of the Grade 12 students have been taking their Chinese Oral assessment this week which have gone well. The Grade 11 students of the Student Council (STUCO) have been running an “AIDS Awareness and Fundraising” event which has been well received. We have also had a number of Grade 9 and 10 boys and girls playing in their respective junior varsity basketball teams. We also welcomed parents back into the building with a series of information and Maker sessions as well as a week of parent/teacher conferences. Concurrently, the learning taking place in the classroom continues to be excellent.

 Overall, another great week!

042021-2022 the University Baseball League (UBL) Begins

A familiar face appeared on the baseball field in the 2021-2022 University Baseball League (UBL). Ray is a graduate of the Secondary Bilingual Department (SBD).

During his time at I-Shou International School, Ray participated in various activities and the school's baseball team to cultivate his well rounded skills.

This year, through the individual university application program, Ray has begun to show his baseball talent in the Ball Sports Department at the University of Taipei.

 Let’s cheer for Ray!
