03Taiwanese Cultural Day - Taiwan Heritage Tour

To enrich students' understanding of Taiwanese heritage, our Chinese teachers led students in designing a unique heritage exploration activity.

Through this interactive adventure, students not only gained insights into Taiwanese culture but also deepened their understanding of heritage sites, architecture, and temples.

The participating students were highly engaged and gained valuable knowledge and experiences throughout the process.

Let's congratulate those who successfully completed the expedition; their efforts deserve our commendation!

04I-Shou 2024 Spring Carnival

Under the professional guidance of our music teachers Ellie, Kevin, and Christine, our students showcased their exceptional talents through instrumental performances, singing, dancing, and band performances, adding much brilliance to the Spring Carnival.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the three music teachers, the students who performed on stage, the backstage staff, and all the teachers, students, and parents who attended. Together, we successfully created this spectacular Spring Carnival!

05The ISIP Egg Drop Competition

The ISIP hosted its annual egg drop event last week, which is always a popular event for students. This year marked a significant improvement in the number of successfully protected eggs, with eight eggs surviving the drop, surpassing last year's record of two!

The event, aimed at encouraging creativity and basic engineering skills, involved students designing and building protective contraptions to keep their eggs intact when dropped from a considerable height. The young inventors used a variety of materials, including bubble wrap, cardboard, and cotton balls, showcasing their innovative ideas and teamwork.

As the eggs were dropped one by one, excitement filled the air. Cheers erupted each time an egg remained unbroken, culminating in eight victorious moments. Students were awarded a certificate if their eggs were saved. Great job to all the students and teachers who participated!

06Biology Through the Lens of Virtual Reality (VR)

With the help of The Center of Research, Development and Supervision (RDS), students from IBDP Biology class got to immerse themselves in the virtual world.

They first learned how VR headsets operate and are set up. After the adjustment, students had the chance to dissect a frog in a virtual lab.

The step-by-step process of introducing tools, procedures and facts as they operated served as a great alternative and an eco-friendly way for dissection labs.

07We were honored to host Author Michelle Kuo at our school on May 23, 2024

Ms. Kuo guided our Grade 3-5 students through the creation of “I Am” poems, similar to those that appear in her book, Reading with Patrick.

Students astounded us with their insights, humor, and creativity!

Thank you, Michelle!

08The first cohort of I-Shou alumni from our school's International Secondary Department returned to share their experiences with current students

Sonia graduated from The American University of Paris and is now the Co-Founder of Eurocover Travel.

Kevin graduated from National Taiwan University and is a Solar Energy System Designer, as well as a COP28 Delegate in the Taiwan Youth Climate Coalition (TWYCC).

Two outstanding alumni returned to the school to share their past learning experiences at I-Shou with students in the International Secondary Department and the Secondary Bilingual Department. They encouraged students to actively utilize the school's resources, bravely pursue their dreams, and seize opportunities.

We continue to welcome more alumni back to I-Shou!
