義大焦點 IN FOCUS WEEK 5

01Parent-Teacher Conferences at I-Shou International Preschool

Throughout the year at the ISIP we offer many opportunities for parents to gain information and take part in their children's learning. From events like Sharing of Learning, Anniversary Day, and other special performances, we routinely welcome our parent community into the school to learn more about what their children do each day. Parent-Teacher conferences are another great way for parents and teachers to learn new ways of supporting each other.

Between March 13th and 23rd each homeroom class is inviting parents to participate in our Parent-Teacher conferences. This is an opportunity for both parents and teachers to exchange information which aims to support the growth of our students. Teachers will share information about student academic achievement, behavior, and social skill development. Parents can use this time to ask questions or share information about their child and help teachers understand any needs the parents or students may have.

Through events like this we aim to continually be growing as educators and strengthen the bonds we have with our parent community.

02Global Exploration Trips Week and Community Learning in Primary

This week, students in Grades 3, 4 and 6 had the opportunity to participate in a range of educational GET week and community learning experiences off campus. From visiting the zoo and exploring modes of transportation, to taking part in outdoor adventures, the students had a fantastic time while learning new things and making memories that will last a lifetime.

The GET week trips and community learning trips were designed to foster a love for learning and encourage our students to explore new subjects in a fun and interactive way. The trips were a huge success, and our students came back to school with a newfound enthusiasm for their studies.

Additionally, these trips provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to bond with their classmates and teachers outside of the classroom. The sense of community that was built during these trips will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our students' academic and social development.

03Grade 12 IB Diploma Programme Mock Exams Underway!

The Grade 12 students are currently completing their Mock Exams for the IB Diploma Programme. The “mocks” allow the opportunity for students to participate in a simulation of the full set of IB Diploma examination papers for all of their subjects, prior to the international external assessments held globally in May of each school year.

We are proud of our students, and we know they will do great on the mocks and the May examinations!

04Secondary Bilingual Department (SBD) Grade 12 Students are Busy Applying for Universities

This week, SBD Grade 12 students are busy applying for universities. Students who are eligible for the MOE Star Plan sent out their applications. At the same time, the rest of students are busy checking information for individual applications. Our teachers support students along the process.

We are looking forward to their good news soon!

05Chinese and Cultural Classes Cultivate Students to Embrace Taiwan's Chinese Culture

Taiwan's Chinese culture is inclusive, elegant, and meaningful, encompassing a wide range of aspects that profoundly influence our family and social lives. In our Chinese and Cultural classes, we guide students to explore Taiwan's local culture, allowing children to understand the customs of Taiwanese society, such as popular folk beliefs, and also to learn about the long-standing Chinese culture, such as the art of tea drinking and dramatic facial makeup. We hope to let teenagers growing up in the age of technology learn and cherish their own culture.
